Our curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum where children are arranged into five Key Stages. Students aged 3 to 5 years old enter the FS1 or FS2 and complete two years in our Foundation Stage. These classes follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum from the UK.
Primary school aged students (Ages 5 to 11) start in Year 1, and then move on to complete two years in Key Stage 1 and then four years in Key Stage 2, finally graduating into our Secondary School after the age of 11 years. The Primary Stages (Years 1 – 6) follow a broad and balanced curriculum, with the National Curriculum for England at its core, along with the MoE subjects of Arabic, Islamic (for Muslim students), Social Studies and Moral Education.
The Secondary school phase begins for students at the age of 11 years old, this is known as Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9). Students again follow a broad and balanced curriculum which aims to hone their higher order thinking skills. At the end of year 9, students have the opportunity to choose the specific subjects they want to study alongside the mandatory Core subjects. They then prepare for the internationally recognised qualifications called the iGCSEs and BTECs. These qualifications are studied in Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11).
The pinnacle of a student’s education comes in the Sixth Form where they choose which AS and A Levels or BTEC Diplomas they wish to study. Key Stage 5 lays down the foundation for further study at university, college, or entry into their career profession of choice.
Whilst keeping the National Curriculum for England at the core, together with a fully inclusive admissions policy, we give national and expatriate students access to a unique and culturally relevant curriculum. In many ways, TSPS reflects the country we live in. We love the fact that our school has over 60 nationalities represented we a diverse, tolerant and welcoming school that is fully committed to the UAE National Agenda.
In addition to the taught curriculum, we enhance student learning through an enriching extra- curricular programme, which provides opportunity for every child to succeed – known as the Ultra-Curriculum.
At its heart, TSPS is committed to ensuring its students have access to the very highest quality learning experience.
